What is Cyber-bullying

Cyber-bullying is bullying that takes place over digital devices like cell phones, computers, and tablets. Cyber-bullying can occur through SMS, Text, and apps, or online in social media, forums, or gaming where people can view, participate in, or share content. Cyber-bullying includes sending, posting, or sharing negative, harmful, false, or mean content about someone else. It can include sharing personal or private information about someone else causing embarrassment or humiliation. Some Cyber-bullying crosses the line into unlawful or criminal behaviour.

The most common places where cyber-bullying occurs are:

Social Media, such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok

Text messaging and messaging apps on mobile or tablet devices

Instant messaging, direct messaging, and online chatting over the internet

Online forums, chat rooms, and message boards, such as Reddit

Email Online gaming communities

How to prevent Cyber-bullying and why it is important

Make the most of privacy settings. Investigate what measures you can take to keep content private on the websites you use. On Facebook and other social networking sites, you can adjust your settings so that only the people you select are able to see your personal information and posts. It’s important to check these privacy settings frequently, because sites sometimes change their policies.

Think before you post. Never forget that the internet is public. What you put out there can never be erased. If you wouldn’t say something in a room full of strangers, don’t say it via internet. Even letting someone know sensitive or embarrassing information about you via email can have unforeseen consequences.

Keep personal information personal. Don’t reveal identifying details about yourself—address, phone number, school, credit card number, etc.—online. Passwords exist for a reason; sharing them with friends is like passing out copies of your house key to friends and strangers alike. If anyone besides you knows your passwords, it should be your parents and your parents only.

My opinion on cyber-bullying

I think Cyber-bullying is a cruel and hurtful way to harm those who want to be treated with kindness and respect. I think you should treat people the way you want to be treated yourself.

If someone is bullying you online and and you find it hard dealing with it by yourself tell a family or friend to give you support and to help with your Cyber-bullying case.

Bullying Platform

You will most likely get cyberbullied when on these social media platforms such as Facebook and Snapchat

Personal circumstances

Examples of typical bullying is if you get your team mate killed or if you let your team down you could also get bullied by being bad at the game.

You may get bullied for the way you look or your reading disabilities you could also get bullied about your if your fat thin.

How to say Safe 2021 [HC]

                                                How to stay safe 2021

                             computer virus

A computer virus is a type of computer program that, when executed, replicates itself by modifying other computer programs and inserting its own code. With a computer viruses are programmed to harm your computer by damaging programs, deleting files, or reformatting the hard drive. Even less harmful computer viruses can significantly disrupt your system's performance, sapping computer memory and causing frequent computer crashes.

Malware short for malicious software, is a blanket term for viruses, worms, trojans and other harmful computer programs hackers use to wreak destruction and gain access to sensitive information.

Facebook:

You should not give out your details because some people will find out where you live.

You should not give out your phone number to strangers as this is personal information.

Be careful when you are talking to someone online because they may not be who they say they are. Fake names and fake accounts.

You should not share inappropriate photos online. You can get into trouble with the police or your parents.

Be careful who you share photographs with online as some people may use them inappropriately e.g. for false identification.

Phishing is a cybercrime where where a hacker trys to get  your information and use it to get your details or blackmail you.

Anti-phishing apps are Cybersecurity products designed to detect phishing content in email messages. These can filter emails coming from any malicious source by verifying their origin with the databases of phishing websites or through a collection of the addresses of services that hackers usually spoof.

G7 summit

Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s announcement that the G7 Summit will take place in Carbis Bay on June 11 to 13.

The G7 – which is made up of the UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the USA – is the only forum where, according to the UK government, “the world’s most influential and open societies and advanced economies are brought together for close-knit discussions”.

The resistance coalition is calling for local, national and international protests in response to the summit. It is also planning a counter conference, aiming to create a “legacy of resistance and alternatives for Cornwall and beyond”.

A mass day of action is being called for June 12, although what exactly this looks like in terms of actions in Cornwall will be Covid-dependent and announced nearer the time.

The launch statement reads: “We believe in a world where we put people and planet before profit, where justice means justice on a global scale, where wealth is shared equally and not pocketed by the 1%.
